The Strelitzia is also called the 'bird of paradise flower'. That is not surprising, because in the warm places where it grows, the birds use the bract as a seat through which the flower opens. This flower does well in eye-catching bouquets, but also likes to shine with three or four people in your home in a vase.  Meaning: Freedom, Immortality.
